Book Review: ‘The Art of Manipulating Fabric’ by Colette Wolff.

As a Fashion and Textile Designer I was inspired by many books over the years, but there is one I always come back to and that is ‘The Art of Manipulating Fabric, by Colette Wolff. It is a simple reference book for great ways to spruce up a design and can be used for dressmaking or artwork.

The book covers pleating, smocking, tucking, cording, quilting, etc and is a great book for beginners and those more advanced. There are easy illustrations that show you how to manipulate your fabric and lots of pictures of finished works for you to get an idea of how things should turn out.
