Knit Stitchionary: Basic Rib
Simple ribs are great for edging details, as well as body stitches.
This is a 2 by 2 rib, which is knitted as (multiples of 4);
Row 1 – k2, p2 repeat
Row 2 – p2, k2 repeat
Row 3 – repeat from row 1.

Knit Stitchionary: Oblique Rib
This is a really nice diagonal detail stitch from ‘Mon Tricot – 1500 Patterns’ (ISSN 0247-2708, Jan 1984).
The pattern is very simple, just requires a little bit of counting;
(Multiple of 4 + selvedge)
Row 1: k2, p2, repeat.
Row 2 – k1, p2, k1, repeat.
Row 3 – p2, k2, repeat.
Row 4 – p1, k2, p1, repeat.
Row 5 – Repeat from Row 1.
